Abstract This report is of a 51-year-old man with a large malignant fibrous histiocytoma in the upper neck. The tumour was resected and the patient underwent postoperative radiation therapy. Pathological examination indicated a small number of fibroblast-like cells arranged in a storiform pattern. There was no recurrence or metastasis 5 years and 6 months after surgery.
