Adenosquamous Carcinoma of the Tongue

Abstract
Adenosquamous carcinoma is a rare tumour. This tumour is characterised pathologically by the simultaneous presence of distinct areas of adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. A 57-year-old woman, who had been treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy and partial tongue resection for squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue 14 years earlier, presented with a new tongue lesion diagnosed as an adenosquamous carcinoma.
