Abstract Distraction osteogenesis has become one of the major treatment alternatives for correction of dentofacial deformities. An array of distraction devices is available nowadays to suit a variety of indications. This article aims to provide a review of the currently available mandibular distractors by highlighting design specifications and their indications for different deformities.
