Abstract Thyroglossal duct cysts are congenital and usually occur at or below the hyoid bone. When a thyroglossal duct cyst occurs on the tongue, it is usually found at an early age. This report is of a rare case of asymptomatic lingual thyroglossal duct cyst in an elderly woman.
